Beyoncé and Jay-Z cause a stir as they celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba

It’s been quite a day for Beyoncé.

First she showed off her new Pepsi Max advert, then there was a bit of a hoo-haa whenMitch Winehouse asked her for money on Twitter and now Queen Bey has been causing a stir with her husband Jay-Z as they marked their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba.

The power couple was mobbed by fans at La Guarida restaurant in Havana, and the police had to step in to keep the crowds at Bey. Sorry – we mean bay.

They were accompanied by their mums and tucked into typical Cuban creole dishes – fish, chicken, black beans and rice.

While they stuffed their faces (washed down with several mojitos, we hope. And a cigar. what other Cuban cliches can we chuck in?) a massive crowd gathered outside the restaurant shouting Beyoncé’s name until she went to a balcony and waved.

Sorry Jay, your wife is officially way more famous than you.

This is a very special time of year for the Destiny’s child megastar and her husband. They were both born on the 4th of their birth months and chose to hold their wedding on 4th April five years ago.

Bey has previously said: “We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.”

The next day Jay-Z and B walked colonial Old Havana taking photos, all the while surrounded by beefy bodyguards and crowds of excited fans.

Bey posed for snaps with schoolchildren, and we’re assuming the dark glasses are a sign that she’s royally hungover.

If you haven’t see Beyoncé’s frankly brilliant advert for Pepsi Max today, what exactly have you been doing? You’ve missed a whole cultural moment. Check it out here:

In it, she reprises some of her former looks and has a dance off against herself in the mirror.

“It was the first time I saw those costumes in years and it was very emotional,” she said: “I’m proud of those moments and they all connect in some way and have helped me evolve into who I am today.”
