Who dares face off against Beyonce? Beyonce herself! The superstar singer proved Thursday, April 4, that she’s her own fiercest competition by challenging past versions of herself to a dance-off in a new ad for Pepsi.

At the start of the sexy 60-second spot, appropriately titled “Mirrors,” the pop icon is alone in an empty dance studio. Clad in black leather hot pants and AllSaint’s sheer black Kyoto t-shirt, she tries out a few new moves before taking a break to pop open a can of soda. Seconds later — as a tease of a new song from her upcoming album, Mrs. Carter, plays in the background — an image of her from the Destiny’s Child “Bootylicious” video appears in the mirror and gives the present-day Beyonce a cheeky once-over.

Other versions then begin to appear in mirrors around the room: Beyonce in a white tank and denim short-shorts (from “Crazy in Love”), in a metallic dress (“Run the World”), in a white halter (“Naughty Girl”), in a plunging black frock (“Sweet Dreams”), in a green miniskirt (“Deja Vu”), and — of course — in a black leotard and metallic glove (from her iconic “Single Ladies” video).

Present-day Beyonce goes head-to-head with each of them, replicating some of her most famous choreography from the last decade or so. At the end of the commercial, she throws her head back and flings out her arms as the mirrors around her shatter and explode into a million little pieces.

“Embrace your past, but live for now,” she says in a voiceover, as she smiles and then takes a swig of Pepsi.
