Richmond home will be full of British artwork…
Brad Pitt was spotted in Germany visiting a few art exhibitions and after reportedly ‘spending thousands’ on art, the actor has also decided to splash out on British art too, having recently bought pieces of Amy Winehouse and Prince William for his new home in Richmond.
The ‘Moneyball’ actor is currently in the UK with his children and fiancee Angelina Jolie, while she films ‘Maleficent’, and as she’s out at work Brad has been investing in British pieces from artists like Bambi.
A source has told The Sun: “There is a lot of buzz about Bambi at the moment. As Brad’s here with the family for up to two years, it makes sense to fill the house with art by British artists.”
The insider also revealed that Brad already has a significant collection, by adding: “He already has a Banksy, which he bought for £1 million at a London auction, but shipped it to LA.”
It’s thought that the items that Brad recently bought feature the late British singer, who died tragically in July last year, and also a picture of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, and were both done by Bambi, who is a graffiti artist.
Kate has been purchasing her own art by the sounds of it, as it was reported that the Duchess of Cambridge sat for a special painting in honour of her husband’s 30th birthday that they celebrated yesterday (June 21).
