She’s gone to great lengths trying to keep the name a secret but could have blown it with a simple piece of jewellery
We were going to accept the fact we weren’t about to find out the name of Adele’s baby boy for quite some time and just adopt her nickname for him – Little Peanut. We’d even mocked up an appropriate picture, which we were very proud of.
BUT, then we see Adele’s been snapped over in the US wearing a necklace, but it’s not just any piece of gold or silver. It’s one which has a name on it, you know like the one Carrie wore in Sex and the City and we all bought cheap copies that gave us a rash?
Of course Adele’s doesn’t read ‘Carrie’, no it says… ‘Angelo’, which isn’t her name, or her boyfriend Simon’s name. So whose is it? Her son’s? That would be the logical conclusion, surely.
It means angel or messenger, which is entirely appropriate for a new baby and is the kind of romantic name we’d imagine the emotional Adele choosing, plus it’s close to her own name and it sounds exotic. Oh yes, yes, we’re liking this very much.
It’s doubtful she’ll confirm or deny the speculation though because she’s already said she doesn’t want to reveal her son’s name.
“It’s too personal and intimate,” she said on the red carpet at the Golden Globes recently. “I’m not ready.”
She has shared his nickname though: “I just call him Little Peanut.”
We have to say we do prefer Angelo, plus it fits better on a necklace.
