Star sparked speculation of an engagement after recently sporting diamond ring
A new report from the US has claimed that Jennifer Lopez is staging a faux engagement with toy boy lover Casper Smart for attention.
The couple have been together for almost a year and in that time Jen has been quick to shoot down any rumours of marriage, which makes her decision to wear a ring on her engagement finger, earlier this month at Paris Fashion Week, with the world’s media watching a bizarre one.
While her rep denied any engagement, new sources claim speculation around a possible marriage was exactly what she wanted with the ‘Dance Again’ star using the possibility of a marriage to drum up publicity.
US Star magazine has reported: “The love between [Lopez and Smart] may be entirely real, but so is the desire to stay in the spotlight.”
“Image and career are everything for Jennifer,” the source explained, claiming the the couple would go so far to become “engaged to make magazine covers.”
The magazine accuse the star of, “playing games with engagement rings in a shameless bid to grab headlines.”
Adding that Jen will use the speculation to “solidify their image as a happy, love struck couple.”
The couple have been plagued by rumours that Casper, 26, is only with the singer for her money as well as persistent claims that he is in fact homosexual. But insiders have hit back at the wild claims, stating they are one hundred percent “inaccurate.”
