The E! host tweeted the singer some tough love…
Rihanna and Joan Rivers are the latest celebrities to be in a war of words.
The E! Fashion Police host and comedienne watched the Where Have You Been singer’s candid interview with Oprah where she spoke of her ex Chris Brown, and had a few wise words to share with 24-year-old Rihanna.
“Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown,” Rivers jokingly tweeted. “Idiot! Now it’s my turn to slap her.”
The sharp-tongued Rihanna wasted no time to respond by tweeting, “Wow, you really do get slow when you’re old, huh?”
But that tweet has since been deleted from the singer’s Twitter account.
In the heartfelt interview, which aired on Oprah’s Next Chapter last Sunday, Rihanna confessed she still has feeling for 23-year-old Brown, who physically assaulted her in 2009, stating “he was the love of my life.”
“We love each other and we probably always will, and that’s not anything that we’re going to try to change,” the S&M singer tells 58-year-old Oprah. “I think he was the love of my life. He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way. I truly love him. The main thing for me is he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s not happy or he’s still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace.”
Even though Rihanna may have not asked for the bit of tough love from Rivers via Twitter, she still shares, “Honey, Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. … PS — Love to have you on Fashion Police!”
