Hair Styles for the Athletic Black Woman

Many black women find it quite difficult to find a hairstyle that works for them when they are working out in the gym. Many athletic black women do not go to the hair salon often, so instead, they look for ways to keep their hair out of their faces themselves. If you are one of these women, there are many great and easy hairstyles out there that will work well to keep hair out of your face and eyes during a workout. These looks will still leave you looking gorgeous while working out.

Keeping It Short

One of the best ways for an athletic black woman to keep her hair out of her eyes during a workout is simply to keep the hair cut short. A short hair cut will not require much effort. A short hair style can get dry and brittle, but you can avoid this by putting a moisture serum in your hair before working out and wrapping your hair with a scarf. When you’re sweating and hot, the moisturizer will better be absorbed into your hair.

Rock the Braids

If you have longer hair or a weave, one of the best ways for you to keep your hair out of your face is to braid it. You can easily comb the hair to the side and start a nice braid. You can even do two braids if you want to. Additionally, you may have your hair done into a number of small braids. If you do, you can use these small braids to form a bigger braid. You can then wear a sweat band to keep small hairs around your face from annoying you.  For the record, Venus and Serena Williams always wore braids during tennis matches, because they successfully kept their hair from flying in their faces and because they look gorgeous.

Ponytails

Another great way for a black woman to keep her hair out of her face during a workout is to put it in a ponytail. If you are considering doing this, be sure to brush all of your hair back, away from your face. Secure your hair with a hair elastic, but never use a rubber band, as using a rubber band can damage your hair and cause it to break off. You can also wear pig tails if you just want to switch it up.

As you can see, there are many different hairstyles for athletic black women. These hairstyles are all practical and easy to do. They will prevent you from making frequent trips to the hair salon and there is a hairstyle that will work well for any hair length. The next time you are planning to go to the gym and you want to try something different, give one of these looks a try. They are easy to do, don’t require many products, don’t take much time and look fabulous both during and after a workout. See for yourself how amazing these hairstyles will be when you are working out.
