The Italian striker took to the streets of Manchester and put his best foot forward on a cold northern afternoon.

Mario, 21, was joined by his model girlfriend Raffaella Fico and the couple added a taste of Italian couture to Manchester after enjoying a hearty lunch.

Balotelli was dressed in a pair of heavy cotton bottoms with a grey hoody and a black gilet.

The controversial Manchester City player was also wearing black high-top trainers and had his jewellery spilling out over his clothes like a much slimmer Mr T.

Raffaella, who has appeared in reality TV shows in her native Italy, was dressed head to toe in black and wore a thick jacket with black leggings and high heels.

She was also sporting a large black bag which was decorated with a silver skull and silver studs on it.

The attractive young couple must be missing their home country as they had just returned from a short break back home.

Having been back on English shores for less than 24 hours they headed to San Carlo Italian restaurant this afternoon for some food.

The mohawk sporting football star was recently voted as the second best dressed man on the planet by GQ magazine in their annual poll.

They said that the young star was able to look ‘pretty cool’ in clothes that ‘should be a joke’.

Joining Mario in the top five was Dr Who’s Matt Smith, Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson in fourth, and Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield.

UK rapper Tinie Tempah took the top spot while Prince William surprisingly dropped out of the top 50 altogether.
