Actresses seem to have the award nailed down
Mila Kunis was this week named ‘The Sexiest Woman Alive’ by Esquire magazine, providing a photo shoot to prove it, and the Hollywood star certainly looks stunning both on screen and in the shoot for the mag.
But Mila certainly isn’t the first film actress to scoop the award, which has been won by a number of tinseltown’s hottest beauties since it began in 2004. In fact the Award’s first winner was Hollywood’s Queen bee, Angelina Jolie.
Next up was Jessica Biel, who recently starred alongside Colin Farrell in ‘Total Recall’, as well as looking to marry singer and actor Justin Timberlake in her spare time.
2006 saw the award stay within Southern California as Scarlett Johansson scooped the prize, before the first non-American winner (but still a famous screen beauty) Charlize Theron took home 2007’s spoils to South Africa.
If you’re sensing a pattern here, it’s because there is one, with Halle Berry the next, and oldest, winner at 42, before Kate Beckinsale was the first ‘Sexiest Woman’ to be a Brit.
In fact the pattern of actresses was only broken by last year’s winner Rihanna, although 2010’s winner Minka Kelly is more famous for her TV work than film roles.
So to show that Mila’s in good company, and to celebrate her returning the ‘Sexiest Woman’ prize to the film fraternity, here’s the award’s winners over the years.
