Actor looks to have replaced Derek Jeter in star’s
lineup during trip for new nightclub
Minka Kelly appears to be off the free-agent market.
Derek Jeter ’s ex and Wilmer Valderrama were snapped taking what
appeared to be a romantic stroll in Sydney, Australia, on Monday, and sources tell us their time together Down Under didn’t
stop there.
Kelly, who dated the New York Yankee shortstop from 2008 to August 2011, and Valderrama both traveled to
Oz on March 29 for the opening of Marquee, a nightclub at the Star Sydney, with a handful of other celebs including Paris Hilton, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo, Joe Jonas and an ex of Valderrama’s, Ashlee Simpson .
But it wasn’t inside Noah Tepperberg ’s latest venue that the two put
their PDA on display. A source close to the situation tells us that at the start of the trip, the pair were “making it a
point not to be photographed together.”
The 31-year-old actress and former “That ’70s Show” star continued the ruse
after landing, mostly staying “holed up in their hotel” after the club’s opening Friday.
The source tells us they
conveniently had rooms in the same section of the Star, called the Darling. (The hotel is divided into many areas, but the
lavishly decorated Darling is said to boast “million-dollar views of Sydney,” according to the hotel website.)
The
couple’s Monday beach stroll (Tuesday in Sydney, due to the 16-hour EST time difference) along Balmoral Beach came after some
more bonding time. The insider says before their walk, one-time “Friday Night Lights” star Kelly and Valderrama took a
stretch limo with a few other friends to Taronga Zoo in Sydney for some animalistic pleasure.
After the zoo and beach
walk, our source says Kelly and Valderrama took a small chartered boat ride near Sydney Harbour National Park. Valderrama
later tweeted a snapshot taken inside the vessel, showing Kelly, which she immediately retweeted.
When Gatecrasher
first reported in February that Kelly and the Hollywood Lothario were spotted looking more than friendly at a Los Angeles
nightclub, Beacher’s Madhouse, a friend of Valderrama’s told us the famous twosome were “getting to know each other” at the
time.

The same pal tells us now the duo are “living life to the
fullest,” while another source tells us “they are def[initely] exclusive.” Valderrama has dated a long line of Hollywood
starlets prior to Kelly, including Lindsay
Lohan and his most recent ex, Demi Lovato
, but most of them tend to be significantly younger than the 32-year-old Miami native.
A spokeswoman for Kelly did not
get back to us by deadline, and Valderrama’s rep could not be reached.
