Robert

Pattinson may seem super laid back, but when it comes to making Kristen Stewart happy, he goes

the extra mile — especially in celebrating her 22nd birthday last Saturday! As we already reported, the couple spent the evening at one of their favorite bars, Harvard & Stone, in Los Angeles

April 7, but we have all new details that will make you swoon.

“This wasn’t an impulsive visit at all,” an insider

tells HollywoodLife.com about the intimate bash. “Rob planned the whole thing a few weeks ago. He talked to

the owners and managers about it and wanted to make sure everyone could get in and out without too much trouble.”

In

fact, Rob, 25, wanted to make sure everything went off without a hitch — but he didn’t want the party to be too over the

top.

“They wanted some privacy, which is why they were in a reserved spot, but there wasn’t a birthday cake,” our

source says, explaining, “At one point, it was offered but Rob declined. He just wanted a fun night out with

friends.”

Even though the party was low key, Rob had some fun tricks up his sleeve, even inviting some guests who

surprised Kristen.

“It wasn’t a surprise party, per se, but Kristen did seem surprised by some of the friends who

showed up,” the eyewitness remembers. “Rob and Kristen seemed so comfortable with each other, holding hands and putting their

hands on each other’s backs occasionally. They were making goofy faces for pictures and everyone was just having a great

time.”

We bet Kristen couldn’t have asked for a more fitting way to spend her 22nd birthday. Doesn’t Rob sound like

the sweetest boyfriend?
