Star’s album Channel Orange makes him a strong contender
Nominated for six Grammy Awards, it’s understandable that Frank Ocean is nervous ahead of tonight’s ceremony.
He may also be feeling anxious about coming face-to-face with arch nemesis Chris Brown, with whom he famously had a brawl a few weeks ago.
The star performed at a pre-Grammy bash last night, singing six songs before a DJ set from critically-lauded act M83.
He told the audience: “So it’s officially Grammy weekend, which is probably not a big deal for everyone… But it makes me nervous as f**k.”
Commentators and analysts are optimistic that he could be successful in a number of categories, given how overwhelmingly positive the critical reaction to album Channel Orangewas last year.
His altercation with Brown is what’s kept him in the headlines over the last couple of weeks, but hopefully a win or two this evening (February 10) will return him to the news for much more positive reasons.
