New York City is full of thousands and thousands of different restaurants, and you’re sure to find something for every palate. If you would like to taste some delicious sushi, you may be wondering where to begin as there are also many sushi restaurants in the area too. Fortunately I have made things a little easier for you by listing some of the best sushi restaurants in New York City.
Please note I haven’t managed to make my war around every sushi restaurant, but as I’ve frequented many, I do have a few favorites that I’m hoping you will also enjoy.
Ushiwakamaru
A bit of an upmarket establishment, Ushiwakamaru is the perfect place for any sushi lover who is willing to pay a little more for quality. If you happen to get to the restaurant after the sushi bar has closed, please do not be put off, you can still enjoy some particularly tasty ramen. If you’re lucky enough to make it here when the bar is open, you can be sure you’ll enjoy some particularly fine foods served in a great atmosphere. Beer is also served here, and it certainly flows as the night draws on. If you would like a bit of fine dining that includes good food and a great atmosphere, Ushiwakamaru may be the sushi restaurant for you.
Sushi Yasuda
Another particularly good sushi restaurant, Sushi Yasuda is perhaps one of the best in New York City. With a great atmosphere that’s complimented by the tasteful décor, you may need to reach a little further in your pocket to afford the prices, having said that, it will be worth your while. Found at 203 East 43rd Street, Sushi Yasuda is well worth a visit. It’s advisable to book a table as the restaurant gets very busy at times.
Sushi Seki
A popular spot for sporting celebrities, Sushi Seki has to be good. the menu here is incredible and you can expect to find a wide variety of dishes you may not come across anywhere else. Open until late, you can be sure to find a great atmosphere inside the restaurant as the sake is delicious. Found at 1143 First Ave, (between 62nd and 63rd Streets), Sushi Seki isn’t the most expensive restaurant of its kind, but the prices are not rock-bottom. If you want fresh sushi, a great menu and good priced food, Sushi Seki is the ideal restaurant.
Tomoe Sushi
Tomoe Sushi is probably one of the best-priced sushi restaurants in terms of value for money. The quality of the food is not compromised, and you’ll be able to see this by the lengthy queues of people waiting outside before the restaurant opens. You should also expect to wait for your meal once the restaurant opens too, as it does get quite busy here. Unfortunately you cannot make reservations here and you may be turned away if there are more than 5 of you in your party. Located at 172 Thompson St in-between Bleecker & West Houston, Tomoe Sushie serves delicious food at a great price and is definitely worth a visit.
