Many of the people these days are suffering from the very serious diseases due to the rapidly moving life of theirs. Heart attacks and diabetes are very common among the people in the age group of 30 to 40. There was a time when these diseases were very difficult to treat and the success rate of the treatment was also low. But with the development of medical science with time, these diseases are not that life threatening as they were previously. They can be easily treated and can even be avoided by some medical processes.

Heart attack:

A heart attack is very common thing to be heard in today’s time. Every now and then one can hear news about a heart attack in the vicinity. But the good thing is that with proper medical assistance, these attacks do not become fatal. There are different treatments available in medical science which can take the patient out of this traumatic situation by following some simple treatments for heart attacks. The most common heart attack treatments that one comes to know are as follows:

  • The first one is coronary angioplasty. In the process of coronary angioplasty, a very thin tube which is known as catheter in the medical terms is inserted in the body. At the end of this tube is attached a balloon to widen the artery that has been narrowed due to some reason. This tube goes straight to the heart through the artery. With the support of X-ray, the condition of the inside of the artery is displayed on the screen. And accordingly the treatment is done.
  • The second one is the Thrombolysis. This treatment involves injecting some medication with the name thrombolytic in the body. The function of this medication is to destroy the accumulated fibrin which is the tough protein which is responsible for blood clots in the veins and arteries. These proteins create a mesh in the arteries and block them in a very short time span. This injection is often used with any other blood thinning medications in many cases. For the people who have a risk of having another heart attack, additional medication with the name of Glycoprotein llb /llla is given to the patient.
  • Another treatment is EECP, which means Enhanced External Counter Pulsation. This treatment does not involve any cutting of an organ or operation. In this treatment, pneumatic cuffs are fitted with body and these cuffs propel the blood in the rhythm of the heart which makes the blood flow properly in the body and make the heart function smoothly. This treatment is worldwide popular due to its success ratio and feature of being painless. It is worldwide accepted and very much helpful to those who have already undergone bypass-surgery but still facing the heart problem.
