Six Reasons Why You Should Stop Smoking Today

We all know the health complications that smoking could cause, but this isn’t the sole reason to quit.

Smoking is a habit that can have various negative effects on our lives and it’s not until we sit down really think about it that we realise just how different our lives would be if we didn’t smoke.

There are few reasons to smoke other than enjoyment, but there are multiple reasons not to smoke. Here are six reasons why you should consider quitting smoking today.

Save Money It’s horrifying when you begin to add up how much money you have spent over the years on smoking.

Often it adds up to a significant amount and whilst you may feel like you have little money or can’t afford something you really need you may have been able to had you not spent the money on cigarettes.

Start saving today by quitting and save the money for something you really need or reward yourself with a holiday etc.

Better Oral Health It’s no secret that smoking is bad for your teeth and oral health causing staining, decay and bad breath.

This can lead to expensive and painful trips to the dentists and often causes long term problems. Whilst quitting won’t get rid of any staining that has already occurred it will stop problems with your oral health increasing.

No Stale Smoke Smell You might not notice it anymore, but those close to you will. Unfortunately the smell of smoke clings to our clothes, hair and skin meaning no matter how many times you chew gum or spray extra perfume after smoking that lingering smell is still there.

Few people will agree it’s a nice smell, wouldn’t it be far better if your clothes and home smelt clean and fresh rather than smoky and dirty?

As a smoker you experience nicotine cravings which is when you feel like you need to smoke. Better Physical Health Those who do smoke will know just the smallest amount of physical exercise leaves you out of breath and usually unable to continue. Some of us can’t even make it up stairs without being puffed out leaving us to catch our breaths at the top.
