Skin care news: An all in one product for acne is finally here

Acne, pimple or zit is the common enemy of everyone that is difficult to defeat. A lot of products have sprouted from stores to treat this seemingly stubborn foe. Due to the fact that our skin has individual needs and preferences, it made the challenge of eradicating acne on the face of the planet more difficult. But what really is acne? Let’s get to the bottom of this.

 What is Acne?

Almost everyone has battled with acne, especially during adolescence, but only few knows what really acne is. Acne is a form of inflammation in the pores. It happens when the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands block the hair follicles. If the opening is big, it becomes blackheads; it appears like dark spots in enlarged pores. On the other hand, if the opening remains small, it becomes white heads, often looks like tiny bumps. If whiteheads or blackheads become infected, it will get inflamed and become acne. In more severe conditions it extends further down the skin and forms what is now called the cystic acne.

 What Causes Acne?

There are different theories explaining the cause for acne breakouts. Although none of them fully explains what causes acne. Here are some of the theories about acne:

Stress- For years a lot of people believed that stress causes pimples. Research shows very little evidence to the correlation of acne to stress. However, they proved that stress could worsen acne but never cause it.

Hormones- Most of us suffered acne during our adolescent years. This could be due to the over production of male hormones androgen (which included testosterone) to both male and female.  Excess levels of androgen stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce more oil, causing it to block hair follicles. However, some doctors don’t believe that androgen has something to do with acne breakouts.

Bacteria- When a lot of oil is produced in the skin, it causes blockage on the hair follicles. Too much blockage could cause the walls of the hair follicles to breakdown and for the bacteria-laden oil to seep into nearby tissues, causing infection.

Oral Contraceptives- Some women who take oral contraceptives report acne breakouts.

 The Cure

No matter what causes acne, it surely gets the best of us often times. Experts devised ways to get rid of this. Most anti-acne medications or creams include benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, but some have skin that gets too irritated with such chemicals. This is why Exposed Skin Care was invented. It does not just actively kill the bacteria causing acne but it also protects the skin in the process. Exposed is the perfect blend of nature and science, utilizing the best of both worlds to help you achieve the skin that you desire. To make it clearer here are the active ingredients of Exposed:

Benzoyl Peroxide- Kills the pimple causing bacteria. It also acts to minimize oil production of the sebaceous glands.

Salicylic acid- Sheds the dead skin cells off while decreasing the size of the pores to prevent future acne breakouts.

Glycolic acid- Works similar to the salicylic acid but also helps the skin have that younger glow.

Sulfur- Dries out the pimples.

Azelaic  acid- Prevents growth of pimple causing bacteria.

Green tea- Also helps kill the bacteria deep down the pores.

Passion flower extract- Soothes the skin from irritation and inflammation

Aloe-vera- Soothes the skin from irritation and hastens healing process.

Licorice root extract- Also protects the skin from irritation.
