LONDON (AP) — Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has been fired by the Premier League club a day after a 5-0 loss to Liverpool.

Tottenham says an agreement has been reached with Villas-Boas for the termination of his services.

Tottenham is seventh in the league after 16 games and has struggled despite spending more than $160 million on players in the offseason.
