It looks like Christina Aguilera is gearing up to record new music again! According to the BMI Repertoire, Christina recently registered a new song called ‘Waves.’ The song is apparently co-written by Maggie Chapman, David Hall Hodges and Meghan Shahnaz Kabir, and could possibly be on Christina’s upcoming new album. Those are, sadly, the only details we have so far, but considering how long it’s been since we’ve heard new music from Christina we’ll take what we can get.

Back in October, Christina tweeted about being back in the studio to record, expressing her excitement for 2015. You can check out that tweet below:

Her upcoming album — which, according to the tweet may be set to be released in 2015 — will mark her first album since 2012′s ‘Lotus.’ We could seriously not be more excited for new music from Christina. Hopefully she won’t make us wait too long to hear it!

And as though that exciting news isn’t enough, we reported earlier that Christina will also be returning to ‘The Voice‘ next season. As much as we loved having Gwen Stefani judging, we’ve definitely missed Christina’s attitude and spark — not to mention her banter with Adam Levine. We just wish they’d build an extra judges chair so we could have all five of them on the show.

What do you guys think? Will 2015 be the Year of Christina?
