Just Say No: How I Lost Weight Without Prescription Drugs

Lost Weight Without Prescription Drugs

After getting married, the pounds slowly crept up on me. However, I did not really worry about it too much, and being in a solid relationship let me feel comfortable doing so. Years flew by, and I went to college full time, only to continue to put on even more weight far beyond the freshman fifteen.

Finally, a decade of laziness, unwise eating habits, and somehow overlooking the fact that I could not see many of my vital parts anymore, kicked me in my oversized gut. I was obese. Not just overweight, but straight up obese. The mirror screamed it, my body felt it and my self-esteem instantly plummeted.

At 5’4 and 210 pounds, my BMI was an astonishing 36, which actually did ultimately lead me to have high blood pressure and cholesterol. The weight, the side effects and lack of a healthy diet also led me to have a mini-stroke at age 37. This alarming event is what scared me into:

  • Eating organic foods
  • Beginning an exercise routine
  • Finding an effective natural appetite suppressant
  • Discovering an emotional balance

Tribulations of Getting Started Losing Weight

Fortunately, my health scare brought me into reality, yet I knew that I was not alone in the battle of the bulge, particularly after seeing that 69.2 percent of Americans age 20 and above are overweight or obese, according to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control.

Snacking is my best friend, so healthier foods and a natural appetite suppressant were the first steps loosing the seemingly unachievable 65 pounds that would be necessary to get out of the obese and overweight categories. With a goal of 145 pounds in sight, it was tempting to head to the doctor to request a prescription for weight loss pills. Surely, if anyone qualified, it was I.

However, my big gut’s feeling was that putting more substances that are unnatural into my body probably was not the best way to go about losing weight. Fortunately, I found a natural appetite suppressant that worked immediately, had no artificial ingredients and that proved truly effective at keeping me out of the snack cupboard. Between the organic foods and the suppressant, my energy levels ramped up along with my metabolism.

That is when exercise fell right into sync with my routine. Getting out into nature walking, light jogging and spending time doing something for myself fueled my inner self in amazing ways. Putting emotions into their proper place became easier the more my body moved and shed pounds. I just felt better – inside and out.

My Journey is Halfway Over

I proudly state that after a few months that my goal is well within reach, as I am halfway there. My primarily goal is to lose weight, weight that I take off healthily and permanently. Slow and steady has proven to work for me, and the rewards can only get better as I steadily continue to climb the Stairmaster in my halfway there “weight loss success story.” I hope that this has encouraged you to go out there and make your own story.
