Khloe Kardashian: ‘People assume I’m desperate for a baby’

Khloe Kardashian says she noticed rapper Kanye West’s crush on sister Kim years ago, but that Kim was not interested in dating him at the time. Now the two are expecting a child.

The reality star opens up to Redbook about the pros and cons of being too candid about her personal life.

Khloe Kardashian says she noticed rapper Kanye West’s crush on sister Kim years ago, but that Kim was not interested in dating him at the time. Now the two are expecting a child.

The June issue of Redbook is all about keeping up with Khloe Kardashian.

The 28-year-old reality star is used to being candid about her life, having appeared in shows like “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” “Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami,” and “Khloe & Lamar.” But she admits to the magazine that being so open isn’t always a good thing.

While Khloe is known for being forthright about her issues with fertility in order to support other women going through similar issues, she details how it was never intended to be the primary focus about her life.

“I do think [sharing] my difficulty getting pregnant has helped a lot of women,” the former “X-Factor” host says.

But in her attempt to help other women it aligned the topic to be associated with Khloe all too often.

“Do I wish people would quit asking me about it 24/7?” she adds. “Yes, but I don’t regret [talking about] it. I was 26 when that started, and I admit, I didn’t know a lot about my body. It was hard for me to understand what was happening because my mom had six kids and Kourtney got pregnant quickly.”

Now with older sister Kim, 32, expecting her first child, some have speculated that Khloe is envious.

“Please. People want to assume that I’m devastated,” she says concerning Kim’s pregnancy with boyfriend Kanye West. “I couldn’t be happier.”

While Khloe thinks the assumptions that she’s jealous of her sister’s having babies is ridiculous, she understands where they may stem from.

“I actually got mad at Kourtney, because she was afraid to tell me at first,” she recalls. “So I get why people think I’m hurt, because my own sister thought I would be.”

But Lamar Odom’s wife of nearly four years couldn’t be happier about becoming an aunt again – – she’s already aunt to Kourtney’s son Mason, 3, and daughter, Penelope, 9 months.

One thing that makes the third time around so special is due to West being in her sister’s life.

“I love Kanye,” she gushes about the Chicago-born rapper who her family has known since 2004. “He always had a crush on Kim, but she was never into him at the time. I’d always told Kim they were like two peas in a pod, and she would never listen. Then one day she says, ‘I think I like Kanye.’ I was like, ‘Since when?’”

Regardless of the babies or pregnancies surrounding Khloe’s life, she is content at not rushing to have children of her own.

“People assume I’m desperate for a baby,” she says. “And yes, I would love to have a baby. But I’m 28, and I’ve been married three and a half years. I love my life, but it doesn’t feel incomplete right now.”
