Fresh misery for winger signed a year ago by Alex Ferguson who new boss David Moyes doesn’t select yet seems in no hurry to send out on loan either.

Wilfried Zaha’s Manchester United career hit a new low on Monday night when he was left on the bench – for the Old Trafford giants’ reserve side.

The winger, a £15million signing by then-boss Alex Ferguson a year ago who has not started a single match in the Premier League under successor David Moyes, was picked in the team to face Middlesbrough but then mysteriously dropped to sub after the warm-up.

Zaha had practised properly, but also signed autographs before the game.

By kick-off, just a few minutes later, the 21-year-old England international and former Crystal Palace star was on the sidelines.

Zaha, who wants to go on loan and has been strongly linked with a move to Cardiff for the rest of the season, hoped to impress his bosses and other clubs’ scouts.

He eventually came on as a sub for the last half-hour.
