Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis – GETTY

They are Hollywood movie giants and have starred together – but it’s all turned frosty between Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis.

Sly fired the Die Hard star from his latest film, branding him “greedy and lazy” after he reportedly demanded £2.6million for four days’ work.

The Rocky and Rambo legend quickly replaced his colleague, taking to the internet to announce: “Willis out…Harrison Ford in!!!! Great news!!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!”

But the pair are not the only celebrities who can’t resist taking a pop at each other at every opportunity they get.

Here we look at some of the best celeb spats – and see who came out on top.

Katie Price vs. Kelly Brook

It all started after Katie, 35, labelled fellow busty model Kelly a “heffer” in her newspaper column after she gained a few pounds.

Kelly, 33, kept quiet for a while but then hit Twitter and broke her silence, by calling her love-rival, who briefly dated Kelly’s ex Danny Cipriani, as “desperate”.

However after the recent claims Cipriani cheated with half a dozen women Katie came out on Kelly’s side.

* Winner: Kelly – keeping a dignified silence… mostly

One Direction vs. The Wanted

Despite evidence to the contrary, it appears not everyone is a fan of One Direction.

Jay McGuinness, 23, from fellow boyband The Wanted claimed Max George, 24, would easily beat up One Direction’s Zayn Malik after he bizarrely called Max “chlamydia boy” in a Twitter slanging match.

As for Max he refused to back down and told the 20-year-old to grow up.

* Winner: Max – rise above it

Elton John vs. Madonna

It was one of the longest running feuds in showbusiness.

Over the years, Elton has called Material Girl Madonna, 54, a “fairground stripper”, labelled her song for film Die Another Day as “the worst Bond tune ever” and claimed she lip syncs when she sings.

But Elton, 66, decided to call it quits with Madonna after she was in the same restaurant, passing her a note saying he was sorry.

He said: “She was very gracious.”

* Winner: Madonne – it takes a big man to apologise, and a bigger woman to accept

Kirstie Allsopp vs. Lord Alan Sugar

After appearing on the celebrity version of The Apprentice in aid of Sport Relief, Kirstie, 41, tweeted Lord Sugar, 66, had been “shockingly uncharitable” to cast and crew and the straight-talking businessman fired back, calling her a “lying cow”, “the worst contestant on celeb apprentice ever” and a whole host of other insults.

That was five years ago but the spat is still rumbling on, with Sugar more recently saying the presenter should go on a diet.

* Winner: Alan – well, you wouldn’t cross him would you?

Cheryl Cole vs. Charlotte Church

Their bitter feud started after Cheryl, 30, claimed Welsh soprano singer Charlotte, 27, had copied their sound after she released her debut pop album, Tissues and Issues.

Church hit back, saying Cheryl’s band, Girls Aloud, were “five dogs without balls” and couldn’t help adding Cheryl had “no backbone” for going back to husband Ashley Cole after he cheated on her.

After they came face to face for the first time Cheryl reportedly said she was “scared” of her.

* Winner: Cheryl – she took on Simon Cowell for goodness sake

Sharon Osbourne vs. Dannii Minogue

Always one to speak her mind, Sharon, 60, said X Factor colleague Dannii, 41, had “bad plastic surgery” and “no sense of humour” after she claimed Ozzy’s wife had bullied her on the show in her autobiography.

It quickly became a family affair when daughter Kelly Osbourne, 28, waded in, saying: “the best thing to happen to Dannii’s career was that my mother hated her.” and she needed to “shut her mouth.”

* Winner: Sharon – if she can be married to Ozzy poor Dannii has no chance

Katy Perry vs. Lily Allen

Singer Katy, 28, messed with the wrong celebrity when she called herself a “skinnier version of Lily Allen.”

The fiery British signer responded by saying: “you don’t write your own songs, shut up.”

The I Kissed a Girl singer later apologised saying she was “trying to be funny” and “didn’t mean anything by it” but that didn’t stop Lily, 28, being “frosty” when they met for the first time.

* Winner: Lily – seems to be a girl who holds a grudge

Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey

Nicki and Mariah’s bickering on American Idol was a hit with the ratings but their comments continued when the cameras stopped rolling.

Nicki called her fellow judge “insecure” and “bitter” after Mariah said she’d had more Billboard number one hits than her arch rival.

Both singers later quit the show.

* Winner: Neither – there’s no point if you both lose out

Christina Aguilera vs. Kelly Osbourne

Like her mum, Kelly, 28, can’t help shooting her mouth off and after claiming Christina had called her fat in the past, she gave both barrels.

While filming show Fashion Police, she had a dig at her rival Christina, 32, saying “Maybe she’s becoming the fat b**ch she was always born to be” after seeing a photo of the singer looking larger than usual.

* Winner: Neither – they did nothing for womankind

Professor Green vs. Victoria Baker-Harber

Made In Chelsea’s Victoria probably regretted threatening to slap co-star Millie Mackintosh, 23.

Famous for her mean comments, Victoria, 25, was put in her place by Millie’s boyfriend and rapper Professor Green, 29, who called her a “horse” and a “nasty piece of work”.

Then Lily Allen jumped on the bandwagon by saying she was an “ubersnob”.

* Winner: Everyone but Victoria

Natalie Cassidy vs. Denise Van Outen

It seems celebrities are more than happy to bring their kids into the boxing ring when it comes to slanging matches.

Natalie, 30, criticised other new mums for going back to work, saying: “Having a child should be your job.”

Denise, 39, used her Twitter to hit back at the former EastEnders actress after seeing her on television promoting her new reality show, writing: “Isn’t that work???”

* Winner: Denise – don’t mess with other mums…

Joan Rivers vs. Lindsay Lohan

It’s Joan’s job to make fun of celebrities so it’s not surprising she’s had her fair share of spats.

After Lindsay was jailed, the comedian, 80, claimed “Lindsay Lohan is so dumb. Her idea of being sworn in is cursing at the judge.”

Lohan, 27, replied saying “Joan Rivers and her argument make me believe that she and Michael Lohan are a match made in heaven.”

* Winner: Joan – No contest, she just has too much ammunition to work with

Courtney Love vs. Taylor Momsen

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but Courtney, 49, doesn’t think so.

Talking about her younger doppleganger Taylor, she described her copying her look as “annoyingly cloyingly wrong” and “deeply disturbing”.

Momsen, 20, responded in an interview by saying “I don’t wanna be Courtney Love – I wanna be Kurt Cobain. I look at Nirvana. I don’t look at Hole”.

* Winner: Taylor – Just say thank you Courtney

Liam Gallagher vs. Robbie Williams

Brothers Liam, 40, and Noel, 46, used to be best mates with Robbie but they fell out in the 1990s after brother Noel branded Robbie, 39, as “that fat dancer from Take That”.

Then in 2000, Williams challenged Liam to a fight and since then they’ve never really seen eye-to-eye.

Their feud reignited this year after Liam called Robbie a “clown”.

* Winner: Robbie – The feud is likely to die down now as Liam has enough problems to worry about in his love life
