Footage emerges of a man looking remarkably steady on his feet as authorities investigate allegations of ticket fraud.
This is the miraculous moment a disabled World Cup fan was able to walk to his wheelchair unaided.
The footage was captured by Mariana Cesario who was watching the Ecuador versus France game at the Maracana stadium on Wednesday.
It emerged amid reports that numerous ‘disabled’ fans have been spotted jumping up from wheelchairs during games in Brazil.
FIFA released a batch of concession tickets specifically for disabled fans, pensioners, students and even the obese just before the tournament started.
But the scramble for tickets has led to many of these appearing on the black market.
There have been some strange sights in stadiums, including people who appear to be about 30 years old in seats for OAPs.
And in scenes reminiscent of Little Britain’s Andy and Lou, wheelchair users have been snapped jumping out of their seats during goals and at critical moments during the matches.
Marian said the wheelchair had been sitting empty in front of her, but then the man appeared and was able to walk to his seat, seemingly without any problem.
People were very angry, she told newspaper O Globo .
A friend of mine made the video. We showed it to volunteers and security guards. We tried to do something but they said they couldn’t do anything and that we should make a complaint to FIFA.
