The Jets have replaced one safety named Landry with another. Gang Green announced the signing of Dawan Landry on Tuesday to add a veteran presence to the secondary after his brother LaRon signed with the Colts, Yeremiah Bell left for the Cards and Eric Smith was cut.
Dawan Landry visited the Jets on March 27. Though age may be catching up to him, Landry, 30, is a welcome addition at a position that features sophomores Antonio Allen and Josh Bush, who have minimal experience.

Dawan Landry was released by the Jaguars after last season, when he played in all 16 games, making 81 tackles and one interception. He was drafted in the fifth round in 2006 by Baltimore.

In his one Pro Bowl season with the Jets, LaRon Landry was known for his big hits and gregarious attitude, which included frequent discussions of his pet monkey, Gucci. No word on whether Dawan owns similar wildlife.

WR Cordarrelle Patterson will visit the Jets on Wednesday, the Daily News learned. Though the Jets drafted Stephen Hill in the second round last season, playmakers are a priority for Mark Sanchez and Gang Green. Patterson is expected to be one of the first wide receivers off the board in the draft.
