Adesanya hoped for a quick rematch after losing to Pereira in November and being stripped of the 84kg championship belt he had held since 2019.

At his UFC 287, which took place at his center in Kaseya late Saturday, Adesanya defeated middleweight champion Pereira with his two right hands and raised his fists to regain the title of the middleweight championship, the most in the history of the sport. Solidified his legacy as one of the greatest fighters.

Adesanya said, I hope everyone on the other side of the screen and in this arena can experience that level of happiness for once in their lives. After a restrained opening picture in which Pereira aimed a brutal kick to Adesanya’s front leg, the fight came to life as in the second both men landed headbutts and Adesanya’s crisp boxing began to speak.

Pereira (7-2) landed a knee that pushed Adesanya (24-2) into the cage in the second round.

Adesanya came out of the cage with his two right hooks and a right hammer fist before grounding and pounding him to end the fight on four.

Pereira, 35, has never lost to 33-year-old Adesanya.

Pereira defeated Adesanya in kickboxing twice before earning his TKO victory for the welterweight belt at UFC 281 in November. They say revenge is sweet, said Adesanya.

That final Hammerfist belonged to the gods.
