How to keep your iPhone Healthy

Although your iPhone will stop working eventually, you probably still want to extend the life of your device as much as possible, especially if you do not have the money to buy a new iPhone every now and then. Here are some tips that can keep your iPhone in top shape for a long time:

Buy a Screen Protector

Your iPhone’s screen is sensitive to touch and damage so make sure that you protect its interface. Unfortunately, getting your iPhone in contact with objects that can damage its screen can be inevitable at times. You may, for example, accidentally scratch the screen or your children may damage it while playing with your device.  Some items in your bag or your pocket such as coins, pens and keys can also easily damage the screen of your device so make sure that you get a screen protector to protect your device’s screen from scratches and other damage. It is advised to change your screen protector regularly so avoid getting those permanent screen protectors because you won’t be able to get them off once you have placed them on your iPhone. When shopping for a screen protector, go for a thick one so it can provide enough protection for your device.

Use a Durable Phone Case

Although the iPhone case may just look like a fashion accessory, it also functions as your first line of shield from cosmetic damage. A good iPhone case can help you avoid getting cracks on your device because if you accidentally drop your iPhone, the case will absorb the shock, thereby reducing the impact on your device. The I iPhone’s surface is also smooth so it is vulnerable to getting scratched when it comes in contact with sharp objects so make sure to protect it with a sturdy phone case. When buying an iPhone case, look for one that you will be most comfortable to use. If you often carry your iPhone in your pocket, for example, you will be more at ease with a not so bulky bumper case because it allows your iPhone to easily slide and fit into your pocket. Choose an iPhone case with colors and designs that you like as well because you likely won’t use an iPhone case that does not fit your tastes.

Turn off Apps that You Do not Use

Some iPhone users think that switching from one app to another is fine but running several apps on your device can slow down and affect the performance of your phone so make sure that you turn off the apps and services on your iPhone that you do not use. If you are done taking tweaking photos on Instagram, turn off the app so it does not run in the background. Do the same with the gaming and social networking apps that you do not use. There are apps though that you may not want to turn off. If you are using your iPhone to receive calls via your RingCentral number, for example, you may want to keep your VoIP service app on in case somebody needs to contact you for an important message.

Install a Battery Management App

It is not easy to fix or replace your iPhone’s battery once it breaks down. You still have to bring your iPhone to an Apple service center once the battery malfunctions. You can avoid the hassles of a faulty battery by installing a battery management app on your device. With a battery management app, you can charge and use your iPhone properly so the battery does not get easily damaged and lasts longer.
