Star considered the options
Alesha Dixon has revealed that she considered keeping her job on Strictly Come Dancing as well as joining Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Amanda Holden on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel.
Talking to the Mirror about her move from the popular BBC show to rivals ITV, Alesha said that whilst she considered committing to both shows, she is glad that she quit Strictly in the end:
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about doing both but it felt like it was time to move on. Three years is a respectable amount of time and I wouldn’t want people to get bored of me. Always be the one to leave the party, I say.”
Revealing that she hasn’t seen any of the Strictly judges since her exit, Alesha continued:
“I haven’t seen the other judges since, but I keep meaning to say ‘let’s go for dinner’ especially with Bruno Tonioli – he was my best mate on the panel, I love him to bits.”
The star also dismissed the claims that Simon Cowell offered her the BGT job just to annoy the BBC, saying:
“It makes it sound like he stole me and I had no choice. I’m not a puppet, I was like, ‘Well no-one lost their job, so there can’t be an ageist debate, no-one’s being fired, I’m out of a contract, I’m a free agent’. And I like the unknown, I get a kick out of challenges.”

Asked who she would like to see fill her seat on the Strictly Come Dancing panel, Alesha added: “I’ve been racking my brains. I don’t think there’s an obvious choice. I doubt Arlene Phillips is going to go back.”
