Many stars performed at the ceremony in Washington after supporting Barack Obama during his presidential campaign
Just in case it wasn’t clear, Beyonce and Jay Z confirmed their status at the world’s coolest couple by having the best seats at the Presidential Inauguration today.
Not only do they know Barack Obama but they are like this *crosses fingers and bites lip* with the President. We bet that when Jay Z tells a joke, Obama properly belly laughs.
We digress. The pair were among a handful of celebs given VIP tickets to the ceremony in Washington this afternoon.
Rocking up in their smartest outfits (is Jay Z wearing headphones? Or glasses on a string?), the power couple strolled into the US Capitol in serious style.
The somewhat less powerful (but still significant) couple Katy Perry and John Mayer were also at the political event, looking slick in their winter coats and shades.
And taking centre stage was the talented Kelly Clarkson, who sang some sort of song about America being great and dreams coming true.
Beyonce also gave an amazing performance, stepping up for the big finish with a rendition of the American national anthem. We say rendition, there’s only so much you can do with that song.
Other celebs at the ceremony included Eva Longoria and John Legend, with even more stars arriving at the Inauguration Ball afterwards.
Performing at the party, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson looked stunning in gowns, while chaps Marc Antony Will.i.am also entertained the crowd. Oh and David Arquette was there, we don’t know why.
Go and stare at all of the political stars in the gallery above, yeah? Yeah.
