We’ve seen a whole lot of break-ups when it comes to celebrity romances this year, but in terms of the couples that did stay together this glorious 2012, we saw some fashion fireworks amongst a few of our stylish star power duos.
One prime example of this would have to be Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, whose style credentials blossomed earlier this year followed by their relationship with an engagement.
Our fave low-key Hollywood couple began to dress in a co-ordinated style not long after they began dating, with Jen hastily ditching any sort of colour for head-to-toe black, just like her fella.
Another couple that has made a fashion impact like no other this year would have to be Victoria and David Beckham – and besides their individual triumphs in the fashion industry with Posh’s eponymous label and Becks’ campaign for H&M.
The genetically perfect couple showed off their style credentials just last week at the Viva Forever! premiere with their brood of children, David looking dapper in a Burberry suit whilst Vic looked effortlessly chic in Isabel Marant and her own eponymous label on the red carpet.
But when it comes to British style royalty, there’s already a couple who fills that position quite nicely, thank you very much.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have looked truly incredible on every public occasion this year, with the DOC’s stunning white Roland Mouret Gown and Wills’ suave tuxedo combo making them the cream of the crop.
Meanwhile, another A-list couple that made our jaws literally drop this year would have to be Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who wowed at the world premieres of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II consistently.
One of the world’s hottest couple’s put K.Stew’s cheating scandal behind them and focused on fashion for their Twilight promotional appearances, with Kristen wowing in glittering gowns and jumpsuits by Elie Saab as well as Zuhair Murad.
R-Patz, who has a penchant for wearing Gucci, also looked dapper in his array of considered suits as he posed proudly next to his gorgeous once-again-girlfriend Kristen.
When it comes to couples that have less than impressed us in the style stakes this year, that number one spot was nabbed by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West without hesitation.
32-year-old reality star Kim has taken ill-advice from her rapper-turned-fashion designer boyfriend over the past year, with this unflattering Givenchy skintight military green tail dress costing almost $3000.
And Kanye didn’t look much better in baggy leather pants hung low, a black tank top and a baseball cap, topping the ridiculous look off with heavy gold chains. Did you get that from Chavs ‘R’ Us, Kanye?
