Mother and daughter had a troubled relationship…
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have finally got engaged, and we’re not the only people over the moon about it, as her mother is apparently “absolutely delighted” over the news that her daughter is getting hitched again even though her daughter didn’t tell her directly.
The 76-year-old has had a difficult relationship with her daughter ever since Nancy gave an interview about the former Friends actress in 1996, and then went on to publish a book about her daughter.
Just last year, Jen and Nancy seemed to repair their relationship after she suffered a stroke. A source has told RadarOnline that Jen’s mother is happy for her.
“Nancy is absolutely delighted Jennifer is going to marry Justin. The first she learned of the engagement though was after an official announcement had been made to the press. She had an inkling that Jennifer was happy and that she was ready to settle down,” the insider told the website.
“They haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, but Nancy only wants the best for her daughter,” the source continued.
“When Nancy had a stroke she had the pleasure of meeting Justin when he visited her in hospital with Jennifer. He brought her flowers, was very caring and Nancy thought he was a true gentleman. Nancy believes Justin is good for Jennifer, lets her be herself and their relationship is the real deal.”
Meanwhile, Jen’s Greek cousin is still upset over her break-up with ex-husband Brad Pitt who she divorced in 2005 after a five year marriage.
Markos Papasifikas attended the former couple’s 2000 Malibu wedding and revealed that it had been a low-key event, and that he was “sad” when they announced their break-up.
“I expected more glamour and it was all very low key. And I, you know, most of the people – there weren’t that many stars. It was a small wedding. There was only like a couple hundred people,” he told the US OK! magazine. “I liked him… very warm family.”
