And the teen star admits that he found last years baby rumours “pretty sad”
It’s entirely possible that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez make us even happier than Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake ever did. And that’s not just because – so far – the teenagers haven’t stepped out at an awards ceremony wearing matching head-to-toe studded denim outfits.
The couple (who have been eating each others’ faces in public for over 18 months now) were spotted in Bieber’s homeland this morning, just hours after Justin arrived back after making thousands of girls in NYC swoon and fall over. Despite only getting back to Canada a couple of hours earlier himself, as soon as Selena flew into Toronto, it looks like Justin dropped everything (/had his assistant reschedule stuff) so that he could race down to the airport and give her an oversized kiss.
Unfortunately, it looks like his plans were overshadowed by a couple called Shawna and Steve. Who appear to have planned a similar reunion at the airport, and marked it with an oversized teddy bear. Now. We clearly have no personal experience to draw upon here, but something tells us that Justin’s snogging techniques don’t quite compare to this:
Luckily for Biebs, his relationship with Selena is so solid, she really didn’t seem to mind. After all, he did hire out an entire stadium for a date recently. So she can’t really complain.
And it sounds like Justin’s needed his girlfriend to be supportive of him over the last few months. After super-fan Martha Yeater claimed that Justin was the father of her child last year, the popstar has confessed that he found the rumour mongering quite difficult to handle.
“At the beginning of it all I was in Florida, away from my friends and family and I was pretty sad,” Justin remembers.
“I got to the point where I thought, ‘I don’t want to do this. I just want to be normal’. It was difficult because I’d never gone through anything like that. Usher was like, ‘Prepare to have this for the rest of your career because it’s not going to stop’. He’s gone through some stuff and most artists go through their fair share of bull. That was just my first time.”
Asked how he felt about Yeater, he added: “I feel sorry for her more than anything. Everything that hurts you makes you stronger in the end. You’ve got to learn from the bad things that happen.”
Now Justin and Selena are due to attend the Much Music Awards in Toronto tomorrow night together. So we imagine that they headed home to discuss outfit coordination and practise their paparazzi poses. Or just to get sewing all of Justin’s old denim jeans together to make a tuxe.
