French party was even wilder than we thought The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister was spotted “passionately kissing” French playboy Antoine de Tavernost at a wild fancy dress party in Paris, it was claimed last night.
Pippa Middleton
Pippa, 28, attended the wild birthday celebration themed around the era of the French Queen Marie Antoinette last Friday, wearing a risqué bejewelled scarlet bodice.
The socialite, who shot to fame when her sister Kate married Prince William in April last year, was seen disappearing to a more private area of the raucous party with aristocratic TV producer Antoine de Tavernost, whom she reportedly met that evening.
The party was held at upmarket restaurant and nightclub the Theatre St Germain in honour of her friend, the Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait, turning 30.
Escaping the burlesque dancers and dwarves, Pippa was seen sneaking to a corner for an intimate clinch with the son of French TV mogul Nicolas de Tavernost. The couple later walked hand-in-hand to a post-party soiree at the nearby Le Schmuck restaurant, in which de Tavernost has a share, before hitting up another nightclub.
A well-placed source, backed by another independent witness, told the Daily Mail: “She was kissing Antoine de Tavernost. He is the son of the chairman of a big TV station. He is quite wealthy and lives in Paris. They seemed like girlfriend and boyfriend on Friday night, but Antoine will see it as a bit of fun, nothing more.
“They met for the first time at the party. They were chatting and dancing. Then later they were seen kissing in the corner.
“Apart from this, she was very well behaved. They left together, at about 2.30am, to go to a restaurant called Schmuck St Germain, where he is a partner. Then they went to Regine, another nightclub. I don’t know if they went home together.”
Pippa’s trip to Paris has been controversial throughout – the party planner was also snapped over the weekend smiling in the passenger seat of a car, whilst the driver brandished a toy gun.
Last night, Antoine’s brother Marcy de Soultrait tried to play down the incident, calling it a “very funny game,” that Pippa thought was “a hilarious joke.”
De Soultrait told the newspaper last night: “Pippa is a very good friend of mine and this gun affair is very silly.”
Pippa’s behaviour has been increasingly unpredictable since her split from her most serious boyfriend last year, level-headed cricketer-turned-financier Alex Loudon.
What will the future Queen think of her sister’s indiscretions, we wonder?
