Her son Jack Osbourne has just revealed he has MS and it all became a bit too much for his mum Sharon when she tried to talk about it on TV
Jack Osbourne has just been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and while the sad news came as a shock when it was revealed, obviously his family have struggled to come to terms with it.
Jack’s mum Sharon is known as the feisty former X Factor judge who famously went to war with Dannii Minogue and isn’t exactly known for her tact and shy, retiring nature.
But talking about her 26 year old lad’s illness became a bit too much for her when she appeared on her regular job as a host on CBS daytime show The Talk.
Sharon’s co host Julie Chen asked her to talk about it and she struggled to even get any words out at first before saying: “Jack will actually be here on Wednesday to talk about his diagnosis. But he’s great, he’s doing really, really well.
“And I want to thank everyone for all their texts and goodwill and love they send to us.
After Julie tried to fill in for Sharon, who had broken down in tears, she also seemed overwhelmed with emotion before asking Sharon if she had anything she wanted to add.
“It’s been amazing… for Jack ‘cause I really believe that vibes of prayer help.
“And what I’m doing right now is not helping because I’m just feeling sorry for myself and that is no good.”
Jack, who became a father for the first time to baby Pearl two months ago by fiancée Lisa, broke the news of his illness to Hello magazine and said he’d been diagnosed after losing 60 per cent vision in his right eye.
“While I was waiting for the final results, I got really, really angry,” he said.
“Then I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realised, being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point – if anything it’s only going to make it worse.
“‘Adapt and overcome’ is my new motto.”
