Former 90s star sings Love On Top
Former Cleoptra singer Cleo Higgins seems to have got the ‘fastest chair turn ever’ following her recent appearance on the new season of The Voice.
The 30-year-old star has made a comeback on the BBC show after she first found fame with her sisters in Cleopatra in 1998. And now she’s ready to make her return to music, after getting an impressive reaction from Jessie J – who apparently gave the “fastest chair turn ever”.
Cleo was belting out Beyonce’s Love On Top on the BBC reality show, and barely got out a note of her audition song instead it was more of a warble, when the Price Tag singer got a vote and it seems like Jessie wasn’t left disappointed after getting out of her seat to sing along with Cleo, and can be heard shouting “wow”.
The former pop star managed to keep her cool, despite Jessie’s big reaction but her family and friends were delighted with the reception.
Of her decision to return to music and appear on The Voice, she said: “I have been away from the music industry far too long and it’s now time for me to be seen and heard.”
Cleo, now 30, went on to perform two duets with Russell Watson after she left Cleopatra in 2000. While she’s not been singing her heart out, Cleo has been a pastry chef, a vocal coach and even has her own beauty range, but she’s set to return to music and is prepared to go solo.
Cleo Higgins’ full audition can be seen on The Voice this Saturday on BBC1 at 6.45pm.
