Buying a new mobile phone doesn’t have to be a huge investment. Sure, there are some great top of the line phones out there that come with steep price tags. However, they also come laden with features that many of us will never use. Thankfully, there are plenty of mid-range phones that are both functional and affordable.
The Android operating system is the system of choice for most mid-range phones. It’s sleek, fast and easy to use. But exactly which Android device should you buy? Today we’re looking at the Huawei Ascend G330 and the Motorola Motosmart. Both of these are Android devices, and they both retail at similar and affordable prices. But which one is a better buy? We put these two phones to the test to find out exactly how they compare and what their differences are. If you want to know which phone is a bargain, then keep reading to find out our recommendation and how these devices stack up.
Why You Should Buy the Huawei Ascend G330…
The Huawei model has quite a few things going for it. Firstly, it runs Android’s 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, rather than the older Android 2.3 Gingerbread system. In general, a newer operating system version means a little more speed and more stability, with less chance of your phone crashing or freezing. The Ascend also has a larger screen, measuring in at four inches, rather than the three and a half inch screen on the Motosmart. Not only that, but the display has two and a half times higher resolution as well as forty per cent more PPI (pixels per inch). These two things combined mean that the picture on the Ascend is noticeably brighter, more vivid and crisper than that on the Motorola. The camera on the Huawei is also higher resolution being an 8 MP device as opposed to the 3 MP camera on the Motosmart. This means that photos taken on the Ascend are better quality and have more fine detail. Finally, the Ascend has an awful lot more internal storage. It comes with 4 GB of internal memory, as compared to the mere 168 MB on the Motosmart. That means you can store a lot more music, photos, videos and games on your phone…
The Advantages of the Motorola Motosmart…
The Motosmart really only has a couple of advantages. First, it is around twenty per cent lighter, but that’s almost definitely due to the smaller screen size. It also has better Bluetooth support. The Motorola comes equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 rather than the much older 1.0 version on the Ascend. If you frequently connect to hands free or other Bluetooth devices the newer version means that you get faster data transfer and that your phone uses less battery power when connecting to other devices. But that’s pretty much it for the Motosmart.
Which One Should I Get?
The Huawei Ascend G330 is definitely a better phone for your money. A bigger and better display as well as a lot more storage space means that the Ascend wins out over the Motorola Motosmart.
