Confirming speculation about a larger model of the One M9, HTC unveiled the One M9+ in China on Wednesday.

Improving on its predecessor, the HTC One M9+ has a larger 5.2in display with a 2560×1440 QHD resolution, rivalling the likes of the Galaxy S6 and LG G3 with a 565 pixels-per-inch image density.

Taking further tips from Samsung, HTC has equipped the One M9+ with a fingerprint sensor which, unlike the scanner on the HTC One Max, is integrated into a physical home button on the front of the handset.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor has been traded in for a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795T chipset, which is paired with 3GB RAM.

The M9’s 20.7MP camera has been replaced with a 20MP Duo Camera on the rear of the One M9+, alongside an UltraPixel front-facing snapper.

Beyond these upgrades, the specs and operating system remain largely unchanged. The HTC One M9+ arrives running the same Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system as its forerunner, skinned in HTC’s Sense 7.0 user interface

The smartphone packs the same 2,840mAh battery and ships with 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded via the onboard microSD slot.

The HTC One M9+, much like its sibling, will be available in silver, gold and gunmetal models at launch.

HTC said that the new handset will make its debut in China, but the company has yet to confirm whether it will see an international release. There are no pricing details available yet, either.
