Kate Middleton’s Baby To Inspire ‘Official Range Of Baby Products’ To Be Released By Royal Collection

Royal birth is reportedly inspiring a new range for the Royal Collection Trust

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s baby, which is due in July, is reportedly inspiring the Royal Collection Trust to release a range of baby gifts which will be available for the public to buy.

Reports suggest the charity, which looks after the Queen’s art collection, is to capitalise on the hugely anticipated royal birth by bringing out its first ever range of baby goods.

“An official range to celebrate the birth of a future monarch would be made, but not until after the event,” confirms a spokesman to The Telegraph’s Mandrake.

The Royal Collection makes money off the hugely popular royals by selling a range of official items in it’s gift shops at locations such as Buckingham Palace, as well as profiting frokm ticket sales to the royal residences.

Everything from full china sets to shower caps are sold by the trust with the money generated by the current Queen’s Diamond Jubilee souvenirs expected to top that for items sold in the wake of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which reached £5 million.

No wonder the trust is keen to cash in on the royal baby which would surely top these sales figures. Any money raised from the range, as with all other Royal Collection profits, will go towards the upkeep of the vast collection of art treasures and exhibitons.

The Duchess has already given the finances of the Royal Collection a huge boost since marrying WIlliam, after allowing her wedding dress to be the centrepiece of Buckingham Palace’s summer opening to the public in 2011.

The gown proved a huge attraction, boosting the number of visitors to the Queen’s London residence by 191,000m with more than £10 million spent on admission tickets, an increase of almost £3.5 million on the previous year.

Meanwhile sales at the palace’s shops were £3.87 million, up by nearly £1.7 million.

We wonder what the new range could include?
