Blonde wants her own career
Looks like Prince Harry’s girlfriend Cressida Bonas isn’t about to start a life as a full time royal just yet as the blonde has reportedly taken a £20,000 a year marketing job.
The 24 year-old, who has been dating the 29 year-old royal for 18 months is reportedly determined to earn her own way, and has taken the job in theatre marketing after leaving her career as a dancer behind.
A source told The Sun: [Cressida] fiercely independent and doesn’t want anything through her connection with Harry.
She said she knew that if she was ever given major roles she would always wonder whether she had earned it ot whether it was given to her because of her status.
It looks like Cressida isn’t the only one with a new job. Prince Harry has reportedly also given up life as an Army attack helicopter pilot in return for a desk job. Following his two tour in Afghanistan, including one four month one that ended in January 2013, Harry has exchanged action for pen pushing, the Mirror reports.
His duties as a Blues and Royals officer will see him plan ceremonial paradies including those his family are involved in such as Trooping The Colour. Harry and Cressida were first rumoured to be an item in Summer 2012, however it wasn’t confirmed until they were spotted locking lips on the slops on a ski trip last February.
While we might be hankering after another royal wedding, her half brother insisted the couple weren’t quite there yet when speaking to the Evening Standard last autumn.
Jacobi, 30, has insisted claims of an impending wedding is ludicrous, he said.
Admitting the 24 year-old was struggling with the pressure of being a royal WAG, he said: She’s not a tough cookie at all. She’s a very sensitive, sweet girl, all my family are — they’re incredible.
It’s challenging, you can’t deny it, he went on, It’s not something that is easy for anyone dating a royal or marrying into the family or anyone in the royal family themselves.
I think on some level it is different to any other type of fame, Jacobi mused.
