Serena Williams insists that a ‘huge conversation’ needs to be had about women’ s matches being pushed on to smaller courts at Wimbledon to make way for men’s matches.
On Centre Court and Court No 1 there were four men’s matches and only two women’ s for round four on Monday.
Caroline Wozniacki sparked the sexism debate after she was knocked out by Garbine Muguruza, but world No 1 Williams backed her counterpart on Tuesday.
Williams said: ’Every year there’re two men’s and one woman’s match on the main courts — Court No. 1 as well as on Centre Court.
‘We’re still fighting on that. We’ve made some progress. Hopefully we’ll keep making more progress.
