The first full week of May sweeps
means lots of guest stars (especially Whoopi Goldberg), new episodes and reality show intrigue. The highlights:
Ryan
O’Neal returns as Brennan’s dad on “Bones” at 8 p.m. Monday on Fox.
Blake Shelton performs his new single, “Over,” on
“The Voice” at 8 p.m. Monday on NBC. The semifinalists perform that evening, and the field will be reduced in the results
show at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Cyndi Lauper, Kid Cudi and Cee Lo Green perform on Tuesday’s show.
“Dancing With the Stars”
offers classical night at 8 p.m. Monday on ABC. Joshua Bell and Jackie Evancho perform on Monday’s show. The Tuesday results
show, at 9 p.m., will feature the final dance duel. The celebrities most likely to go into that dance-off are Roshon Fegan,
Melissa Gilbert and Jaleel White.
Oscar-winner Kathy Bates plays the ghost of Charlie Harper on “Two and a Half Men”
at 9 p.m. Monday on CBS. Charlie’s ghost appears to Alan, who has suffered a minor heart attack.
“The Biggest Loser”
names the winner of its 13th season at 8 p.m. Tuesday on NBC.
Whoopi Goldberg plays the dean who listens to the
auditions of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) on “Glee” at 8 p.m. Tuesday on Fox.
Joel
Gretsch of “V” plays a special agent on “NCIS” at 8 p.m. Tuesday on CBS. The plot: The team investigates a fire on a Navy
vessel that raises concerns at Navy facilities worldwide.
Whoopi Goldberg plays a school guidance counselor who
inspires Sue on “The Middle” at 8 p.m. Wednesday on ABC.
The final five on “American Idol” perform on a British-themed
night at 8 p.m. Wednesday on Fox. Could that theme help underdog Hollie Cavanagh? The other finalists are Skylar Laine,
Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez. Carrie Underwood and Coldplay perform on the results show at 8 p.m.
Thursday.
Kat Edorsson of Orlando has emerged as a player to watch on “Survivor: One World” at 8 p.m. Wednesday on
CBS.
Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) buys a car without consulting wife Claire (Julie Bowen) on “Modern Family” at 9 p.m.
Wednesday on ABC.
NASA pushes up the launch date for Howard’s mission on “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. Thursday on
CBS.
Fans of “St. Elsewhere” may want to look at “Grey’s Anatomy,” which features William Daniels at 9 p.m. Thursday
on ABC. Debbie Allen is another guest star.
Kenny Johnson of “The Shield” plays the former fiance of Lisbon (Robin
Tunney) on “The Mentalist” at 10 p.m. Thursday on CBS.
